NATHAN SCORES!!!!

It happened on a perfectly magnificent October fall morning, a great morning for outdoor activities. Despite many attempts by the STR K boys soccer team, the game remained scoreless throughout the first quarter. A few minutes after the second quarter commenced, Grandma “B” finally arrived from her chores at Hamilton Pre-School. She unfolded her chair and sat. She contemplated moving to be closer to Pa-Pa, but if she had, it would have devastated her for the rest of her life...

Meanwhile, a power struggle ensued on the Holy Infant side of the field. Nathan managed to break free of the “swarm” and attacked the net. The only obstacles between him and glory was a defender and goalie. As he entered the box, he wound up and blasted a powerful kick from the left side of the post to the right. Nathan claims it went through the defenders legs. The spectators only saw a fast moving ball fly by two unsuspecting boys. GOALLLLLL!!! The crowd went CRAZY!!! As he ran back to his side of the field for the re-set, Nathan got a high five from his coach on the field. A grin from ear to ear appeared on his face as he reveled in the moment. STR up 1-0.

Time would prove that Nathnan’s goal would be all STR needed on Saturday, but star forward Jake Vitale added one more in the third just to be sure. That insurance we hoped built up the confidence of the 3rd & 4th quarter goalie, the aforementioned, Nathan Bischof. To the pleasure of his parents. Nathan remained fairly bored between the poles due to the excellent skills of his defenders.

STR defeated HI 2-0. STR went above .500 for the season with a W-L-T record of 4-3-1. The boys get Wednesday off for some trick or treating.

FYI Carter’s final match is scheduled for tonight. There is no rain schedule but don't be surprise if you see some drops falling aroung 5:30 pm tonight.
