The Agony of Defeat

STR faced their toughest opponent of the season on Saturday, St. Clement of Rome. STR continues to investigate the possibility of the team being a select soccer team directly imported from Italy. We will keep you posted when more details are available.

Can’t say if it was the size/skill intimidation or lack of focus that caused the downfall on Saturday, but the STR team that played the first half of the season was NO where to be found. It got ugly quick with SCR scoring in the first minute of play. They finished the first quarter 3 up on STR. Then a gleam of hope the SCR’s star forward was placed in goal. But unfortunately another star emerged. End of half, 4-0.

Both stars must have hit the bench and STR had a couple of opportunities in the third, but no scoring entailed. SCR brought both star forwards out for quarter four to tack three more on to the total to go ahead 7-0 in the match. The boys didn't seem to care much as the engulfed their after game snack and drink provided by Nathan. Better luck next week against Holy Infant, boys!
